1. From 00:00 UTC on September 16 to 23:59 UTC on September 22, the special callsign AO50MRG will be broadcast to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first amateur radio monument in Güímar and will be available to all licensed or SWL radio amateurs around the world.

  2. The call will be  “CQ 50 ANNIVERSARY MONUMENT TO THE RADIO AMATEUR IN GÜÍMAR” (CQ 50 ANIVERSARIO MONUMENTO AL RADIOAFICIONADO EN GÜÍMAR).

  3. Contacts made on the bands of 80m, 40m, 30m, 20m, 17m, 15m, 12m and 10 meters in SSB, CW and MGM, machine-generated modes (FT4, FT8, RTTY) will be valid.

  4. Diplomas:

    To obtain the certificate you must obtain a minimum of 25 points that will be counted according to the following scores: 

    • CW: 7 points for each QSO on each band.
      example: AO50MRG, QSO en 40m, 20m 15m: 7+7+7= 21 points

    • SSB: 5 points for each QSO on each band.
      example: AO50MRG, QSO en 40m LSB, 20m USB, 15m USB:5+5+5=15 points

    • MGM: 3 points for each QSO on each band.
      example: AO50MRG, QSO en 40m FT8, 20m FT8, 12m FT8: 3+3+3=9 points

  5. QSO Accreditation

    The special station can be worked only once on each band and mode, duplicates will not be penalized and a final classification will be made for the operators who make the greatest number of contacts with the special station.

    All participants who manage to add up the 25 points will be able to download a DIPLOMA designed for this purpose in full-colour PDF format, with the signatures of the president of the regional section of the Unión de Radioaficionados del Valle de Güímar and of the secretary of the same, who will control the honesty and compliance with the rules, from the website https://www.urvag.com.

    The stations that manage to complete the greatest number of slots and are first in the sum of points during the dates of the event in the following categories:

    • General (all entities)
    • España (EA, EA6 y EA9)
    • Canarias

    They will receive a commemorative gift of this anniversary that will be sent to them free of charge to the address that appears in the QRZ.COM database.

    In the event of a tie in the classification, the station that first made the last valid contact prevails.
